Holland Park has been called the “Central Park” of Surrey City Centre. The redevelopment of the park, in the mid 2000's, transformed it from a once quiet and underused space to the contemporary urban park of today.
At 10 hectare (25 acres), Holland Park offers a variety of park amenities, including large sports fields, basketball courts, a playground and lots of picnicking areas. The park is also home to the Holland Gardens, which includes a large central amphitheater and water fountain. Parking and washrooms are also available, with access off King George Boulevard.
Annually, Holland Park hosts large community and city events including Fusion Festival, Movies under the Stars and Live Nation Concerts with past performers including Mumford & Sons and FVDED in the Park. In 2008, Holland Park was selected as a site for one of British Columbia’s Spirit Squares to celebrate the Province’s 150th anniversary. Holland Park also played host to Surrey’s celebration site during the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.
The City has plans for the expansion of Holland Park, with additional amenities including a water park, tennis and volleyball courts, and an outdoor staging area to support large outdoor concerts and special events.
