CREVE COEUR, MO (KTVI)- Radio One St. Louis and Old School 95.5 FM teamed up with the St. Louis Regional Business Council to host a radiothon to help raise money for small businesses in Ferguson and surrounding areas. The funds will go to help business owners affected by the civil unrest following the shooting death of Michael Brown.
Award-winning singer, actor, and producer/ host of TV’s “America’s Got Talent,” Nick Cannon, hosted the fundraiser. Cannon and other celebrities and leaders spent the day interviewing several business owners whose lives have been affected.
Canon says St. Louis is a second home to him and he will do anything to help. He has a solution for helping end violence in the area. He says parenting and family should be the primary focus.
Actor Malik Yoba was also on hand for the event.
The St. Louis Regional Business Council created the Reinvest North Country Fund to provide immediate relief to small businesses which have been hurt by ongoing civil unrest.
