Born in Tijuana raised in San Diego, Francisco Javier Bautista Jr or Frankie J. was always surrounded by music. Whether traditional Latin or American Urban, he loved it. When Frankie hit High School his passion for singing started to grow and with the encouragement of his family he began to participate in his school's talent shows and functions. Known as a freestyle artist under the moniker Frankie Boy, he was poised to release a solo CD but the album was shelved for unspecified reasons. A couple of years later he became a member of the Kumbia Kings formed by A.B. Quintanilla III the brother of the late Selena. After a successful run of Spanish and English language albums Frankie decided to become a solo artist and was signed to Columbia Records where he released his debut album "What's A Man To Do" in 2003. His Self-Titled first Spanish language album "Frankie J" was also released that year and produced the hit lead single "Don't Wanna Try". He was also featured on a top ten hit with fellow latin musician Baby Bash with the song "Suga Suga". His Second album "The One" was released in 2005 and churned out a few hits including "Obsession (No Es Amor)" Featuring Baby Bash, "How to Deal" and "More than Words". "Obsession peaked at #3 on the Billboard charts and by January 2006 it was certified Platinum, selling over a million copies. Frankie went on to release his third English-language album titled "Priceless" which featured hits like "That Girl" feat. Chamillionaire and Manny Fresh as well the sweet single "Daddy's little Girl" which charted at #23 Billboards Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart. Not too long after that Frankie J departed Columbia records and released a few singles and started his own label Soulsick Records. His most recent outing was released in December 2011 and his lead single "How Beautiful you Are" was available digitally in October of the same year. The music video for the song premiered on Youtube September 11, 2011. Frankie J has also caught the acting bug having recently been cast as Ramon the mechanic on the mun2 television series "RPM", which was just picked up for a second season. Whether acting or doing what he loves most, singing, Frankie J never forgets where he comes from and always keeps his mexican heritage and pride at the forefront of his art.
