As a teen, COOLWHIP was a regular patron at all the local record stores searching for find rare grooves. A top honor student and a shop sponsored skateboarder riding with many famous pro skaters at Venice High School, COOLWHIP has always felt that music was his calling.
As Coolwhip's record collection grew, so did his overwhelming desire to play them in front of a crowd. In 1991, with a record collection the size of a two car garage, COOLWHIP decided it was time to pursue music the way he had pursued education and skateboarding. At a Rave in Downtown Los Angeles that his brother was Djing at, COOLWHIP grabbed a record, starting spinning, and has never looked back.
Ironically, since his introduction to professional DJing, he has gone on to graduate from the University of California, Irvine with a BS in the Biological Sciences, California State University, Dominguez Hills with a masters and Southern California College of Optometry with a doctorate degree in Optometry.
He is referred to as a Hollywood legend by his peers, and is a favorite among many club goers. COOLWHIP has a reputation as a DJ’s DJ.
