The vocal powerhouse C.C. Sheffield is about to take the scene by storm this year. The newest signing to Ultra Music, her first single "Long Brown Hair" is out May 22nd.
C.C. first dropped into Los Angeles music scene as a member of the 4-piece “moody rock” band Le Rev, with a unique sound similar to artists such as PJ Harvey and Siouxsie and the Banshees. They released 2 EPs under their own label, working with Jeff Salzman (producer of The Killers "Hot Fuss") on "Tales of Running Away”.
In 2009, Le Rev decided to go their separate ways. C.C. took it as an opportunity to begin DJing and held residencies at many Hollywood clubs. C.C. worked with artists on club nights, such as Steve Aoki, MGMT, Devendra Banheart and many others.
Her first big break in professional songwriting was writing with legendary producer Max Martin in Sweden. Sheffield then went on to collaborate was with International Artist/DJ Tiësto with a remix of a Le Rev song “Escape Me” and featured on Tiësto's record 'Kaleidoscope' (Ultra Music). This gave C.C. the perfect transition into the worldwide EDM scene. She devoted herself to songwriting, performing and DJing across the world, performing for a Prince Qatar New Years Party in Egypt to all night raves in Seattle. C.C. has also collaborated with superstars Afrojack, Avicii, LA Riots, Steve Aoki, Skrillex and deadmau5.
C.C. Sheffield also collaborated with superstar Skrillex to write two deadmau5 tracks. One of which was the legendary "Raise Your Weapon" (Ultra Music), which went on to chart in Billboard's Top 100 Singles and was nominated for a 2012 Grammy Award as Best Dance Recording. C.C. has recently finished a mini East Coast club tour, performing many of her live songs during her DJ sets. Her girlish energy and enthusiasm for music is infectious and sets her apart. As Instyle UK noted, "C.C. Sheffield isn't just another pretty face."
