Artist Bio

Casandra Elizabeth Ventura was born in New London, Connecticut on August 26, 1986, to a Filipino Father and African-Mexican Mother. She attended The Williams School, a preparatory school in New London. She trained as a singer and dancer, and took voice lessons. Cassie began modeling at the age of fourteen, and by the time she was sixteen, appeared in print ads for Seventeen and the catalog for popular teen line, Delia’s. When she graduated from high school in 2004, she decided to pursue her career in modeling and singing.

Cassie got her first taste of the music industry at the age of sixteen when she had the opportunity to speak with the producer Rockwilder, a meeting that inspired her to take formal voice lessons. This decision paid off nicely later on, when, after graduating from high school, she met producer Ryan Leslie. He encouraged her to pursue music more seriously, and in January 2005, Leslie and Cassie recording a song together. Tommy Mottola heard Cassie's work and signed her to a management deal. With Leslie as her producer, Cassie joined Sean “Diddy” Combs, Bad Boy Entertainment in 2006. That same year, her self-titled debut album was released; its lead single "Me & U", peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot 100, selling more than one million digital downloads and becoming one of the most popular songs of the year.

She began work on her second studio album in 2007 releasing three singles; "Official Girl" featuring Lil Wayne in August 2008, "Must Be Love" featuring Diddy in April 2009, and "Lets Get Crazy" featuring Akon in August 2009.

Cassie signed a record deal with Interscope Records in late 2009. On April 11, 2013. Cassie released her debut mixtape RockaByeBaby. The mixtape was promoted with the release of "Numb" featuring Rick Ross and "Paradise" featuring Wiz Khalifa. The mixtape generated over one billion social media impressions.

Cassie has ventured into acting, she made her film debut in Step Up 2: The Streets (2008). Cassie has modeled for Calvin Klein one and has featured in magazines including GQ and Bust and recently becoming the face of Forever 21 2013 spring/summer collection.

Cassie has appeared in advertisements for Delia's, Adidas, Abercrombie & Fitch, Seventeen, and a commercial for Clean and Clear. Cassie is known for being a global style icon due to her trendsetting image and fashion.

Cassie is signed to Bad Boy Management and Skam Artists booking agency. Cassie is currently working on her sophomore album and growing both as an artist and as an individual.
